Hello, Lindy’s Gang! Ericka here, and I hope you’re enjoying the cooler weather that autumn brings. Although it’s still a bit warm here in Texas, the evenings are finally cooling down, making it the perfect time to dive into some autumn-themed crafting!
Today, I’m sharing a colorful mixed media leaf project featuring the gorgeous Autumn Leaves Magical set and a fun little fox from Kate’s Krafts. This project is all about capturing those rich, moody fall tones with Lindy’s amazing products.
The Process:
Step 1: Color Magic with Autumn Leaves I started by selecting my colors from the Autumn Leaves Magicals. On watercolor paper, I sprinkled the powders randomly and then spritzed them with water to create a blended, vibrant background. The colors swirled together beautifully, creating the perfect autumnal palette.
Step 2: Leafy Accents Next, I used the Altenew Leaf Mix die set to die-cut leaves from my colored paper. Running the watercolor sheet through my die-cutting machine gave me stunning leaves with gorgeous color variation.
Step 3: Preparing the Background For the background, I used the Ampersand Gessobord, which is prepped to work wonderfully with Lindy’s products. I didn’t want the background to compete with my colorful leaves, so I sprayed it with Moon Shadow Sprays in Buccaneer Blue and Smoky Sapphire. These sprays have beautiful brown hues with subtle hints of color, perfect for a muted, textured background.
Step 4: Adding Texture For a bit of extra texture, I used the Katzelkraft Big Script stamp and heat embossed it with Lindy’s Toadstool Taupe Embossing Powder. The sparkle and texture this added to the background was just what I needed to give the panel some interest without overpowering the leaves.
Step 5: Foxy Focus I found a cute fall fox from Kate’s Krafts that I thought would pair perfectly with my leafy design. I embossed the edges of the fox image with the same Toadstool Taupe EP, then began layering the colorful leaves behind it, securing them with glue to create dimension.
Step 6: Adding the Final Touches No project is complete without a sentiment! I used a Tim Holtz chipboard sentiment and colored it with a bit of Distress Crayon in Espresso before heat embossing it for that extra autumn glow. The sentiment really tied everything together.
I absolutely love how this autumn panel turned out! The rich colors from Lindy’s Autumn Leaves Magicals combined with the texture and shimmer from the sprays and embossing powder made for a beautiful, layered project. I hope this inspires you to break out your Lindy’s Gang products and create something magical this fall.
Thanks for stopping by! Happy crafting, and I can’t wait to see what you create!
