Ericka here, and I hope you are doing well. Have you had the chance to play with the new Under The Sea Magical Shaker sets? I absolutely love these colors and had a blast experimenting with the Sizzix Summer release. They complement each other perfectly, and I’m excited to share my process for creating a vibrant and fun underwater-themed card.
Process:
1. Create the Background
For the background, I used the Sizzix Layered Sea Scape Stencil. I carefully applied layers of Magicals in Octopus Eyes Aqua, Sea Turtle Teal, and Moray Eel Mint. To ensure a smooth blend, I let each layer fully dry before applying the next one. For the final layer, I added embossing ink through the stencil and heat embossed with Dragonfly Denim EP. I then cut down the panel to fit an A2 base.
2. Color the Die Cut Pieces
Next, I used the shakers on Bristol smooth paper to color pieces for my die cuts. I utilized the Under the Sea #1 set to color the crab, seaweed, and shells. These vibrant colors brought the underwater elements to life.
3. Assemble the Card
I assembled the die-cut pieces and arranged them on the card base. Since the background was a bit busy, I adhered the crab onto a piece of vellum. This softened the background and made the crab stand out more prominently. I used a colorful staple to attach the vellum to my card.
4. Add the Sentiment.
To finish the card, I added a sentiment. I heat embossed it in the same Dragonfly Denim EP to add a touch of sparkle and tie everything together.
Thank you for stopping by! I hope you feel inspired to check out these new Magical Shakers and create your own underwater masterpieces.
Have a wonderful week,
Ericka
