My name is France, but i live in Belgium with my hubby, our 2 kiddos, our 2 white mares, dog and cats. My very first scrapping was for our wedding invitations, in 2000.

Full time mixed media artist since 2010, the mix of soft grunge, color and rusted or vintage embellishments are the main ingredients of my tags, books, altered art and art journaling.

To tell my story, I like to play with inky techniques, just like a writer juggling with words. In my classes and tutorials, these techniques allow me to offer a comfort zone to the participants, while guiding them to tell their own story, to reveal their own creativity.
Being on the design teams of Stampotique, PanPastel BNL, Craft Stamper magazine and Mixed Media Place, i enjoy sharing all things artsy with the people around me.

Sharing is such an important part of art to me, that teaching classes doesn’t feel like enough. So in June 2012, i started a video series on YouTube called ‘Journal on Monday’.

As my artistic occupation was growing (teaching classes, making kits, demoing), i started an art association with two artsy friends (a painter and a sculpter) in February 2012: Arts PH asbl.

Step by step photos for the ‘US’ tag:

unnamed-3This manilla tag received a generous coating of Golden Absorbant Ground which, once dried was sprayed with water before going in with colour.

unnamed-2I used several LSG sprays: Time Travel Teal, Shabby Turbine Teal, Rusty Lantern Lime. I lifted the excess ink with a watercolour paper tag.unnamed-2

I mixed up Ponderosa Pines Olive and Tibetan Poppy Teal Magical with Grunge paste.

Using a palet knife, I applied the mixtures on the tag over a stencil, taking care of blending the 2 colours by pulling the green down and the blue up.

With the same colour sprays and water, I added splatters on the tag. The edges were distressed and colourized with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.

Now I could add my embellishments, starting with some tickets and tags. As usual for me, all the metal used received a home rusting treatment beforehand.
