Mixed Media Tag with Marietta Tégi

Hello Everyone!

Today’s creation is a steampunk style tag.

I made the mdf base with a textured surface, the components are corrugated cardboard, paper and crackle paste. I used white gesso on the corrugated board and clear gesso on the paper.

For the background, I used brown and gold colors, complemented by the blue and light turquoise shades of the mould elements. I like to use more contrasting and stronger colors.

I used the following colors for the background: Bandolier Brown, Silent Night Silver, Bayou Boogie Gold, Mission Bells Brown, Blazing Black mist and Gleaming Gold magical.

I applied white gesso to the mould elements, then black sand paste for a grainy effect.

I used the following colors to achieve the final color: Danny Zuko’s Denim, Tweedle Dee Denim, Top Hat Teal, Apothecary Azure mist and Tibetan Poppy Teal magical.

I sprayed the chipboards with golden yellow mist ( Bling-y Blonde and Bayou Boogie Gold ) and then sprinkled Midnight Bronze embossing powder. I sprinkled Wowzers White embossing powder in the middle of the film countdown chipboards to make them stand out more.

Minimally I used white gold wax on both the chipboards and the mould elements, but only after using the granular decorative elements.. somehow I forgot 😀

I hope you like this piece and check out the tutorial you can find here:

Have a nice day! 😊

Love,
Marietta
