Postcard with bright spring flowers using Starbursts sprays using watercolor technique

Hello everyone, I’m Oleksandr and I’m very glad to meet you. For me, nature is always a source of inspiration; I often consider the combination of colors and combination of textures. And in spring, nature is more beautiful than ever and gives bright colors. And today I want to create a card with bright irises.

Basic Process:

The first step is to stamp the image on watercolor paper using clear embossing ink and of course using my favorite embossing powder Gimme Five Gold.

Next comes my favorite process, coloring. The first spray in my collection California Poppy Gold Shimmer Spray.

While the first color is not dry I add a little Bayou Boogie Gold Shimmer Spray.

The next step is to paint the edges of the petals with spray Bachelor Button Blue Shimmer Spray.

And now it remains to paint over the white parts, for this I use Martian Magenta Shimmer Spray, Witch’s Potion Purple Shimmer Spray. I combine all the colors, blurring the boundaries between them and mix them a little for a smooth transition.

Next, I paint the leaves and use a Green with Envy Green Shimmer Spray spray for this and since the leaves are not dry, I add in random order all the sprays that I used to paint the inflorescences.

After drying the images well, I cut them out and add a few strokes with a white gel pen.

I decided to make the background for the card light, airy and add a little color. I use the same sprays that I used for coloring. I wet the watercolor paper very well with clean water, add a little spray using a brush and wash it again with water using a spray bottle. Excess spray can be removed with a napkin. Dry it well and assemble the composition using bulk tape, add an inscription and some decorative stones.
