Hello, Lindy’s Gang friends! It’s Ericka here, ready to spread some festive cheer with a splash of vibrant color. Today, I’m sharing a quick and creative way to make handmade Christmas cards that’ll stand out with their bold hues and playful design. Using Lindy’s Gang Go Girl Shimmer Magical sets, I whipped up some fun watercolor ornaments that are sure to brighten anyone’s holiday season. Let’s dive into the process! and today I made some fun watercolor ornaments.
The Process:
1. Create Your Ornaments with Colorful Circles
Who knew jars could be so handy for art? I grabbed some round jars (you could also freehand paint circles if you’re feeling bold!) and started on watercolor cardstock. First, I sprinkled a little Own It Orchid Magical Shimmer onto my Lindy’s Silicone Mat, added some water, and painted the edge of my jar with the Must Have Brush. Then, I stamped it onto the paper to create circular outlines.
Next, I filled in the circles with water and layered on color until they looked rich and vibrant. For variety, I repeated the process with smaller jars and used Unstoppable Aqua and Get it Gurl Green. Watching the colors blend and shimmer is so fun! I also added a little Fairy Fluff to my ornaments for a highlight.
2. Add Some Artistic Details
Once my colorful ornaments dried, it was time to add some personality. Using a fine black pen, I loosely outlined the circles to give them a playful, handmade vibe. I also drew little ornament tops, painting them in with Gag Me With a Spoon Gray for a subtle metallic touch.
To finish, I sketched a rough frame around the card for extra charm. The imperfect lines added a whimsical touch, making the design feel approachable and unique.
3. Finish with a Festive Sentiment
Every Christmas card needs a heartfelt sentiment! I used the Visible Image Christmas Wishes stamp, heat embossing it with Lindy’s Slam Dunk Silver Embossing Powder to give it that perfect holiday sparkle. The shimmer tied everything together beautifully, making the sentiment pop against the colorful ornaments.
The Go Girl set is bursting with bright, happy colors, making it perfect for quick and eye-catching holiday cards. Whether you’re creating for family, friends, or a last-minute gift, this process is simple, fun, and full of festive spirit.
I hope this inspires you to try out the Go Girl set and enjoy the creative journey. Wishing you a joyful time finishing your Christmas cards—happy crafting!
