Mixed Media Steampunk Cloud by Marietta Tégi

Mixed Media Steampunk Cloud by Marietta Tégi

Hello Everyone!

The theme of my artwork today could be above the clouds 😀 or just below. I prefer above it, because the sun is always shining there.

As you may be used to from me, I made this in steampunk style.

I worked on a Mdf base, on which I applied white gesso, then I used paper texture paste and black sand paste. Then even a minimal amount of crackle paste was I applied.

For the base I used different shades of blue, namely Apothecary Azure, Tilt-A-Wheel Teal and Merci Beaucoup Mint.

At first, I wanted to match the colors of the mould elements to the photo, but in the end, the many shades of brown and gold won out. You can occasionally spot one or two burgundy patches.
For the gear mould elements I used the following colors: Oh Canada Crimson, Bandolier Brown, Cafe au Lait, Cocoa Bean Copper and Pocketwatch Pewter magical powder.
(Oh Canada Crimson Starburst is no longer available in Squirts form, but the new edition can be found in the magical collections.)

I painted the anchor, clock and wing with Bandolier Brown starburst and Goth Goggle Gold magic powder.

I used Hyacinth Blue Jade embossing powder for the inscription chipboard and the watch face.

I chose Gimme Five Gold for the steampunk chipboard elements.

I added my favourite Mitform metal elements to the composition.

As a penultimate step, I applied waxes to both the mould element and the metal products.
I used the following: Celestial, Sepia and Black Gold.

Finally, I added granular decorative elements.

I also made a tutorial about it, which you can find here:

Love,
Marietta
