White paste & Lindy's Magicals - how to create a 3d flower

White paste & Lindy's Magicals - how to create a 3d flower

Hi all – it’s Asia Szczurowska here today.

In one of the previous posts (here) I showed how to create a rainbow, semi-transparent colored paste using Magical Powders and transparent paste. This time, I’d like to mix Magical Powder with white paste to show you a different effect.

In this project, I chose a paste called “Dimensional Paste” from Sizzix. Paste is white after drying, which gives an amazing pastel effect when combined with magicals.

In the video, you can see how little magicals powder needs to be added to the paste for it to be colored (2 minute 24 seconds of the video). The ratio of powder to paste is approximately 10 to 1.

Basic steps:

  1. Paint the background using one color of magical powder. I used Loonie Toonie Teal from Great White North Shimmer Magicals set.
  2. Dry and add another color on the top. I used Banff Blue from Great White North Shimmer Magicals set.
  3. Use embossing powders. I used Slam Dunk Silver Detail EP.
  4. Mix white pastes with chosen Magical Powders. I used Great White North Shimmer Magicals set.
  5. Use a paint spatula to apply pastes. Try to shape the petals. When the first layer of paste dries, add another one with a different color. Repeat the layers for as long as you want.

Have a creative day,

Asia
